PANTHERS have booked King's Lynn Australian star Darcy Ward as a guest for Claus Vissing this coming Thursday, as the Panthers entertain Belle Vue in an ELB fixture.

Vissing is currently on the sidelines after dislocating his shoulder in the second leg of the Danish Final last Friday and he is joined on the medical sidelines by Mads Korneliussen who has unfortunately aggravated a rib injury he sustained last week in a crash on the continent.

Mads fell awkwardly during heat six in Monday's defeat at Wolverhampton and his handlebars came into contact with his recent injury, he did actually ride again in heat nine but the race left him with breathing difficulties and he was withdrawn on medical advice from that moment.

Panthers will be utilising rider replacement for Korneliussen, choosing to use Ward as a guest for Vissing and taking advantage of a new rule this year which gives team managers the choice of which rider to book a guest for when two riders or more are missing.

This will be the second time Ward will have guested for Panthers as he appeared in their match at Coventry on July 3 which saw him score an impressive seven paid eight from the No.2 position.

Ward has recently practised at the Showground and is a regular visitor to the Showground on match days.

Ales Dryml who also injured a thumb in a heat 12 crash last night when struck by an out of control Ty Proctor, but the good news is its not broken and he is intending to ride on Thursday and is planning to have treatment on the injury in the meantime.

Promoter Mick Bratley said: “Our supporters will now be in for a much needed lift on Thursday, as Darcy is an extremely talented youngster whose all action style belies his young age.”

Owner Rick Frost said: “I am grateful to Darcy for stepping in at such short notice and thank Buster for his help in arranging this. I am looking forward very much to see Darcy riding at the Showground again.”
