COMMUTERS will experience no let-up in the hazardous conditions this morning as forecasters warn there will be no respite from the Arctic blast for the foreseeable future.

WeatherQuest forecaster Joe Osborne said: “It’s extremely cold with temperatures as low as we have seen them for several years.

“We could see the odd flurry of snow over the next few days, but generally Monday to Wednesday is likely to be mainly dry, although still staying very cold overnight, with temperatures down to -9C and definitely not going above freezing in the next few days.

“So it’s going to stay bitterly cold bringing with it the problems of ice and very tricky driving conditions.”
