A lifeboat was launched to help a van driver who became stuck on The Strood in Essex at high tide during Storm Eleanor.
Coastguard teams and the volunteer lifeboat crew from West Mersea were sent to help after being called at 12.44pm.
The van was being buffeted by high winds and had begun bobbing about on the flooded road.
An RNLI spokesman said: “After arriving on scene our volunteer crew confirmed that the driver was okay and the tide was now ebbing.
“With no more action on our part required we returned to the station.”
The above video, taken by Leafy Dumas, shows how wild conditions were on the island as the lifeboat returned to its station.
