A popular west Suffolk village fete is returning on bank holiday Monday with a host of activities and entertainment for all the family.
The Hartest Fete on the Green 2018 will this year be opened by two long-time residents of the village – humanitarian Terry Waite and Margaret Rendle, who is in her 100th year.
There will be many traditional games and entertainment, including a pet show, children’s races, morris dancing, and refreshments.
There is free parking and the grand opening on August 27 will be at 1pm.
In support of the fete, Mr Waite will be selling and signing copies of his latest book Solitude, along with Out of the Silence – a collection of poems by the author.
The fete is supporting Hartest Church and Hartest Primary School.
