Essex MP Bernard Jenkin missed his chance to put a question to the Prime Minister today.
Despite securing a coveted place on the weekly ballot for Prime Minister’s Questions, he was not in the House of Commons chamber when Speaker John Bercow called his name.
Tory MP David Davis, a fellow eurosceptic, stepped in to ask a question in his place about immigration national insurance numbers, prompting the Prime Minister to joke: “I’m glad we have got the single transferable question if not the single transferable vote.”
