The pupils at a Wilby primary school are warming up for another round of New Year celebrations - this time complete with ribbon dancing and dragon making.

Wilby CEVC Primary School are running a special set of classes to celebrate Chinese New Year, from crafty projects creating dragons of all shapes and sizes, to lessons in Chinese culture.

In addition, workshop group One Day Creative have been teaching the children how to do Chinese Ribbon Dances, which they will showcase for parents and members of the community alongside a collection of their work on February 23 at 2.30pm.

Headteacher Roisin Wiseman said: “We are always looking for ways to extend our children’s cultural education and develop a broader understanding of the world. Creating our dragons and developing dragon and ribbon dances has provided a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to engage in the visual arts.”
