TOBI Kroner will miss tomorrow night's Elite League speedway meeting at Swindon after being knocked unconscious in Monday's home defeat against the Robins.

The German was kept in hospital for observation overnight and because he suffered concussion he is not allowed to ride again for seven days.

With the force he hit the air fence after looking to be impeded by visiting rider Matej Zagar, Kroner was fortunate to escape with no broken bones.

Ipswich will be otherwise unchanged and use the rider replacement facility to cover for Kroner tomorrow, and he is expected to return to the team in a fortnight's time.

The Witches will again be linked with signing Scott Nicholls after the Speedway Control Bureau ruled that he was ineligible to join his parent club Coventry Bees last week.

The Witches have confirmed that they are looking to strengthen, and they showed an interest in Ipswich-born Nicholls before Coventry signed him and used him against them on May 25. If Coventry can't find a legitimate place for Nicholls then Ipswich would join the queue to bring him back to English speedway.
