A 56-year-old man, who has not been named, was left with potentially life-changing injuries to his hands and face in the attack on Friday morning in Bramble Road, Witham, after two men threw a harmful substance over him.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a chemical attack in north-east Essex.
He was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of assault and has been taken to Colchester Police Station where he is currently being interviewed by detectives.
