Vandals caused £500 damage to a Nissan Quashqai by damaging the boot handle, parking sensors and camera.
During the incident at Twelve Acres, Braintree, damage was also caused to a garden gate.
Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on Saturday between 9pm and 9.22pm, or anyone who has CCTV on their house which may have captured any suspicious activity should call PC James Vandecar at Braintree Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
