A boy and a woman have been charged in connection to the attack on a grieving family during a ceremony for their stillborn girl.

The incident happened in Highwoods Country Park in Colchester on July 23 last year, where a man, woman and three children were all injured as they prepared to release balloons in memory of the baby.

A 14-year-old boy from Colchester has been charged with assault and has been bailed to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on February 4.
