Police are investigating an armed robbery where a woman was threatened with a knife in Colchester.

The incident happened on Friday, February 2 at around 2.10pm, when a man went into the Martin McColls store in Fivefields Court, Colchester.

He approached the woman behind the counter and demanded £40.

She refused, but the man repeatedly demanded the cash, holding a knife in his hand throughout.

He was given the money and then left.

He is white, aged 35-40, around 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build.

He wore a grey hat, dark fleece coat with a white hoodie underneath, dark trousers and white trainers.
