Dr Richard Robson, will take on the role next year when he takes over from Neil Tetley who has been in the role for four years.
Mr Tetley will leave the school in July 2018 to take up the position of executive head at Hastings School in Madrid with senior deputy head Michael Streat taking on the role of acting head in the interim time.
Dr Robson is currently the headmaster at St Bede’s College, an independent Catholic day school in Greater Manchester where he has been since January 2015.
He is a teacher of English, a former professional actor, an accomplished musician and is passionate about the performing arts.
A spokesperson for the school said: “We believe Richard is just the Headmaster we need to drive the School forward, building on the developments begun by Neil Tetley over the past four years.”
