Youngsters at Southwold Primary School have has their artwork exhibited at The Sail Loft after the beachside cafe ran an art competition based on the theme ‘Winter Coastal Art’

The winners from years 3 and 4, Jupiter class, were first placed Maisy Bray and runner-up Millie Cashell and from years 5 and 6, Jupiter class, were winner Freija Halton and runner-up Charlie Plant.

Allyson Yost, senior teacher at the school, said the children were thrilled to see their artwork gracing the cafe’s walls.

She said: “It really encouraged pride in our pupils when they crafted their entries knowing they would be displayed for the public, and it has given them a real sense of achievement.”

Jonathan Nicholson, chef-owner of The Sail Loft, added: “The students really went to town with the theme, capturing the beautiful landscape and wintry weather around the Southwold Coastline.”
