NEWCASTLE United have confirmed Alan Pardew as their new manager.
The appointment of the former West Ham and Charlton boss was largely expected - although the five-and-a-half year contract might surprise some.
Pardew, 49, replaces Chris Hughton who was sacked on Monday and becomes the club’s eighth manager in just over six years.
