Clacton 0 Fords 4
Clacton battled hard, but with key players injured it was always going to be an up hill struggle against top-of-the-table Fords.
The Seasiders kept the visitors at bay for much of the first half, but were unable to make any head way going forwards.
Gavin Underhay and Colin Hook put in some awesome tackles, while Alex Mortimer did the same on the right, progressing down the wing to create some counter attacking moves.
Nick Key and Peter Wright were strong in front of man-of-the-match Mike Key in goal for Clacton.
It was hard work in midfield, with Tom Blake, Rob Lukey, Steven Key and captain Jamie Roberts sticking to the plan and making it hard for the visitors.
Sam Hodge worked tirelessly as ever with some good possession being held to relieve the pressure on the home defence.
There were some fresh faces in the Seasiders line-up with Francis Sanderson, Stuart Perkins, and Danny Clow showing their ability at the higher level.
Clacton were finally broken down by the visitors for a very respectable 1-0 at half time.
The Seasiders were unable to create too many openings themselves as Perkins came the closest when he dribbled into the circle to earn a short corner that, on another day, could have seen him earn a penalty for the team.
The visitors eventually ran out 4-0 winners which was a harsh score line for the performance.
Next week Clacton travel to struggling Upminster looking to put some space between the two teams.
