SUFFOLK star Bradley Ball rallied to success in the Bymac Leinster Open at the Fitzwilliam Club in Dublin to bring his career PSA Tour haul to 15 titles.

This success extends his lead as the Englishman with the most Tour titles on today's international squash circuit.

The 31-year-old from Ipswich, who reached the final without dropping a game, faced Egyptian Omar Abdel Aziz, the 24-year-old No. 2 seed from Cairo.

The Fitzwilliam crowd were treated to a hugely entertaining match, with few mistakes by either player.

Ball, the top seed, was dominant in the opening game, but the Egyptian found his rhythm to take a very close second game to draw level.

The pace of the match did not drop throughout the course of the 78-minute final and, in the third game with both players under pressure, the Englishman proved the stronger to move 2-1 ahead.

Aziz came out in the fourth determined to take Ball the full distance - and had two game balls at 10-8.

However, two well-worked rallies from the Englishman saw him level the score at 10-10 and, seeing his opponent tire, Ball went on to take the game to clinch the match 11-4, 10-11 (1-3), 11-5, 11-10 (2-0).

Ball, the world No. 33, claimed his first PSA Tour title in July 1998 at the Oklahoma City Open. The Dublin success, added to his home soil triumph at the Devon & Exeter Open in May this year, brings his title total to 15, from 23 final appearances.

This is two ahead of his nearest English rival Adrian Grant, the world No. 20 who boasts 13 trophies from 18 finals.
