ROUND eight of the new DEP-sponsored British Two-stroke Moto-cross Championships takes place at the Blaxhall circuit, near Wickham Market, tomorrow.
Originally, the series started as a 125cc two-stroke series two years ago, the event has proved so popular that a 250cc class has been added. Backed by several major sponsors, quite a few national-graded riders are contesting the series, including Mark Eastwood, Ryan Voase, Dave Willett and Stuart Flockhart.
With Four-stroke machinery now commonplace in the sport, it will be a refreshing change to once again hear the sound of two-stroke bikes, which once dominated motor-cycle sport.
One of the local favourites, Aston Bird, has entered, and like most of the big entry, he started his career on two-stroke machinery.
Racing gets under way at around 11am, and admission for adults is £7,with under-14s gaining free entry, if with an adult. Senior citizens and unaccompanied children's admission is £3. It has been decided by the host Woodbridge club that proceeds from the gate admission will go to local charities.
