JIM Magilton has fired a warning ahead of Ipswich Town's FA Cup tie at League Two Bury.

The Shakers came from a goal down to beat Chester City 3-1 in their second round replay and earn a home tie at Gigg Lane against the Blues.

Bryan Klug and Steve McCall ran the rule over Chris Casper's side on Tuesday night and Magilton has already seen them this season.

Magilton said: “I watched Bury play against Accrington when I went to see Gary Roberts play.

“They are a good footballing team that try and get the ball down and play and are lively up front, especially the lad Andy Bishop.

“It is going to be a tough game and they will fancy their chances. It is the third round of the FA Cup and that always throws up a few banana skins.

“They will be looking to win the game so we have to go there and do a professional job.”

Bury are mid-table in the bottom division but Casper believes the fillip of a cup match against Ipswich will lift his side.

Casper said: “I'm so excited to be in amongst big clubs and alongside Ipswich, which is also a big club that has a good FA Cup history.

“It takes us over Christmas to give us something to look forward to. The lads have everything to play for.”

Meanwhile, Ipswich Town have been given assurances from Suffolk police that Saturday's game against Leeds United will go ahead despite the ongoing murder investigations stretching resources.
