Ipswich Town boss Paul Lambert faced the media this lunchtime ahead of his team’s tough trip to Stoke on Saturday – and revealed key man Cole Skuse is facing time on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The new Blues boss said it’s too early to tell yet if midfielder Skuse is facing weeks or months out, but it’s a huge blow ahead with the club already facing what would be the greatest escape in the history of the league to avoid relegation.
But Lambert, who has thrown himself into the task of galvanising his players and re-energising the fanbase since arriving at Portman Road, told the media that he believes the situation will turn around.
He praised what he called a ‘brilliant club’, repeatedly stressed how much he loves the job and said he plans to stay at Portman Road regardless of whether Town get relegated or not.
