In our new daily feature, we take a look back at what happened on this day in Ipswich Town history.
We start eight years ago as Town beat Millwall 2-1 at The New Den in the Carling Cup 3rd Round, thanks to goals from Tamas Priskin and Gareth McAuley - this was the year Town made it to the semi-final of the competition, losing to Arsemal.
In 1991, Chris Kiwomya was among the scorers as Blues beat Bristol City 4-2 at Portman Road, while 25 years ago today, the Blues beat Cambridge United 2-1 at Portman Road in League Cup 2nd Round, 1st leg.
Also on this day in 1974, Brian Talbot and Dave Johnson scored for Town as they beat Chelsea 2-0 at Portman Road to make it seven wins in eight league games at the start of the 1974-75 campaign.
