Owner Marcus Evans does not envisage appointing the next Ipswich Town manager until the end of the current season in the wake of Mick McCarthy’s departure.
Following McCarthy’s exit last night, following the 1-0 win over Barnsley, Bryan Klug will take charge for the final four games of the season as the Blues owner searches for a new manager.
That search is well underway, but Evans does not expect to have a new man in place before the end of the current campaign.

“I have started the process but I will take all the time I need to find the right person.
“A lot can happen around the end of the season with managers so I want to be in the best position I can be before making an appointment.

The club have also confirmed this morning that Evans will speak on camera for the first time in the coming weeks, with the interview made available to all supporters.
Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley remains the favourite with the bookmakers, with the Imps boss unlikely to consider any approach until the end of the season given his side are in the thick of the League Two promotion race.
