Josh Carson’s third goal in two games gave 10-man Ipswich a shock 1-0 win at Bristol City as they survived an unrelenting first-half assault and Lee Martin being dismissed to make it five league games unbeaten.

From the first whistle, Bristol City tore into Ipswich with relish. But Jamal Campbell-Ryce, Nicky Maynard, Jordan Spence and Jon Stead were held at bay by the remarkable Arran Lee-Barrett in the Ipswich goal.
The Blues were reduced to 10 men in the 27th minute when Martin mistimed his tackle and lunged in dangerously.

However, Ipswich were revitalised after the break and youngster Carson pounced to score the winner when he unleashed a low drive from distance which beat City keeper David James to stun the home crowd in the 52nd minute.
Lee-Barrett confirmed his outstanding contribution to the victory with a last-gasp save from Brett Pitman’s powerful drive as Ipswich held on for the three points at Ashton Gate.
