Colchester United writer Carl Marston awards his marks out of 10 for U’s players following yesterday’s 2-1 home defeat to Wycombe Wanderers.
I thought there were a lot of good performances from U’s players, but nothing outstanding, hence the number of 7s and 6s.
I made Drey Wright my U’s man of the match, although Wycombe keeper Scott Brown delivered a 9-out-of-10 display between the sticks for the visitors:
Sam Walker 6
Beaten twice from close range
Tom Eastman 6
So eager to get forward
Ryan Inniss 7
Denied by goal-line clearance
Frankie Kent 6
Surprise return after ankle injury
Ryan Jackson 7
Solid in wing-back role
Tom Lapslie 6
Feisty display, but lacked impact
Doug Loft 7
Sprayed some decent passes
Kane Vincent-Young 6
Full of effort but not at his best
Sammie Szmodics 7
Peppered the target but no goals
Drey Wright 8
Impressed on his return to team
Brandon Hanlan 6
Good finish for goal, could have had a second
