Ipswich Town midfielder Andre Dozzell was an unused substitute as England Under-19s booked their place in the European Championship Final with a last-gasp win over the Czech Republic.
Manchester City striker Lukas Nmecha converted with an audacious heeled flick deep into stoppage-time following a marauding run from Tottenham winger Marcus Edwards.
Keith Downing’s side will now face Portugal in Saturday’s final hoping to replicate the success of England’s U20s, who won the World Cup last month, with the U21s having lost to Germany on penalties in the semi-finals of their European Championships.
Dozzell – who is playing up an age group – started all three of the Young Three Lions’ impressive group wins against Bulgaria (2-0), Holland (1-0) and Germany (4-1) out in Georgia, but suffered an early impact injury to his hip in the victory over the Germans and lost his place in the side as a result.
