AFC Sudbury crashed to a 4-1 defeat at Wingate & Finchley in the Ryman Premier tonight, trailing by three goals at half-time.

Ahmet Rifat rose the highest to head home Ben Pattie’s 18th minute corner for the opening goal, before Reece Beckles-Richards tucked home the hosts’ second under Marcus Garnham on 35 minutes. And the match was effectively over, as a contest, when Pattie notched a third from Beckles-Richards’ cross in the 41st minute.

Sudbury conceded a fourth, just after the hour mark,with Tommy Tejan-Sie slotting home, before Danny Crow swept home a consolation in the 77th minute.

Meanwhile, Bury Town squandered a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw at Ware in Ryman North. Josh Mayhew broke the deadlock in the 27th minute, and Ollie Hughes doubled the lead just four minutes into the second half. Ware rallied with goals from Murat Karagul’s (76th minute penalty) and Gareth Price (90).
