Colchester United will be unveiling their new manager tomorrow afternoon, and John McGreal has emerged as a hot favourite with the bookmakers.
McGreal’s odds have been slashed to 1-5-on by Skybet, and 2-5-on by BetVictor.
The fact that the Essex club are losing no time in appointing a new manager, following former boss Kevin Keen’s departure last week, suggests that chairman Robbie Cowling is likely to make an internal appointment, with little time having been allowed for any external interviews.
David Wright, the current caretaker boss, is 8-1 against with BetVictor, with Adrian Pennock second favourite at 5-1.
Teddy Sheringham, meanwhile, is second favourite at 6-1 against with Skybet, although he is well behind leading contender McGreal.
