Match-winner Ben Pringle was delighted to open his Ipswich Town account in the 1-0 win at Huddersfield this afternoon, but knows he is capable of finding the net on a more regular basis.
The Fulham loanee struck after 19 minutes, converting a Daryl Murphy pass, with a goal which ultimately secured his club three vital points and snapped a three-game losing streak.
It was the 26-year-old’s third goal in 20 appearances this season, for Fulham and Ipswich, but the loanee is keen to make more of an impact.
“I’ve said before that I can bring that to the team, which I should be doing more of really, getting in the box and making as much as I can,” he said.
“It was a good pass from Daryl Murphy and I just had to hit the target. Luckily it went in.
“There are 13 games left so I will try and get in there and score a few more.”
Today’s victory was the first Pringle has experienced since moving to Portman Road, with the midfielder insisting he has enjoyed the first few weeks of his loan spell.
“The gaffer said before the game we needed to break the losing run of the last three games and we needed to get a win or a draw so to get the win while keeping a clean sheet was really good,” he told Ipswich Player.
“I’ve really enjoyed being here so far. It’s the perfect place to come and concentrate completely on football which is what I need.
“Every footballer will tell you that you want to enjoy your football as well as playing as many games as you can. Enjoying it is a bonus, and I am so far.”
