Ipswich-born Ady Pennock is three games away from becoming a Football League manager.
Pennock leads Forest Green on Wednesday in the first leg of their Vanarama Premier play-off tie with Bristol Rovers.
Bristol, who finished their season with a 7-0 victory over Alfreton, finished runners-up to champions Barnet and 12 points clear of Forest Green.
The first leg is at Forest Green with the second leg, on Sunday, at the Memorial Stadium.
The other semi-final sees Grimsby and Eastleigh battle it out over two legs, on Thursday and Sunday, with the final at Wembley on May 17.
