AFC Sudbury moved up to sixth, just three points outside the Ryman North play-off places with a convincing 3-0 victory at home to Waltham Abbey last night.
David Batch’s side, playing for the first time since their tremendous 2-0 FA Trophy victory at Ryman Premier outfit Maidstone, on Saturday, took the lead on 21 minutes.
Terry Rymer got the opening goal, his third of the season, heading home following good work by Ayrton Coley and Jack Guyton.
Sam Clarke gave Sudbury a two-goal lead a minute after the break, the midfielder heading home Jack Wilkinson’s corner.
An own goal made it three for the Yellows on 72 minutes.
The victory was Sudbury’s fifth on the trot in all competitions.
On Saturday, the west Suffolk side are at home to second-bottom Cray Wanderers and will be looking to keep the pressure on the top-five, which includes Mark Morsley’s top-of-the-table Needham Market outfit.
