Aaron Cresswell is on the verge of moving from Ipswich Town to West Ham.
Talented left-back Cresswell, who has so impressed during the last three years at Portman Road, is reported to be undergoing a medical at Upton Park, ahead of a deal which is rumoured to be costing West Ham more than £3m.
If the deal is completed, then Town manager Mick McCarthy, who revealed this week that it would be difficult to keep the player if a suitable bid was received, could have extra funds in the transfer market ahead of the new season.
Cresswell’s former club Tranmere Rovers would be entitled to a 20% sell-on fee, having sold the defender to Town for an initial £240,000 back in 2011.
