Watford have been charged by the Football Association for ‘failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour’ in the 1-1 draw at Ipswich Town last weekend.
Hornets players surrounded referee Graham Scott after he awarded a penalty in the 71st minute after Frank Nouble’s cross struck the arm of Gabriele Angella inside the box.
Joel Ekstrand was booked when the protests eventually died down, David McGoldrick coolly converting the penalty a full two minutes after it was given.
Watford have until 6pm on December 30 to respond to the charge.
