Colchester United have this morning signed winger Jeffrey Monakana on loan from Preston.
U’s boss Joe Dunne will include Monakana in his squad for this weekend’s trip to Bradford City, where he is expected to make his debut.
Monakana is a product of Arsenal’s youth system, so he will be in good company alongside fellow former Gunners’ apprentices Sanchez Watt and Craig Eastmond in the U’s set-up.
Still only aged 19, Monakana has signed a one-month loan deal from Deepdale.
Dunne said this morning: “I’m delighted to have signed Jeffrey Monakana. He is a very direct style of player, who is not afraid to shoot from distance.
“That is something we have been lacking. He will run at defenders.
“I consider him to be a good impact player,” added Dunne.
