Ipswich Witches 59 Redcar Bears 31

Ipswich ‘Sackers’ Witches sounded out a massive warning to their Premier League rivals after crushing Redcar Bears at Foxhall Stadium on Saturday night.

The Bears arrived at Foxhall having just gone to the top of the Premier League themselves after victory over Scunthorpe on Thursday night.

However they were sent home with their tails between their legs in front of a large Foxhall crowd who went home happy as their side dominated throughout.

Led by No.1 Ben Barker, who recorded his second 15-point maximum at Foxhall, the Witches were different class.

And with high-flying Workington next on the Witches radar – at Foxhall on Thursday – the Suffolk side have a great chance to cement their place in the end-of-season play-offs.

“We are proving a force to be reckoned with,” Barker beamed after the meeting.

“Redcar are a good side and we’ve just beaten them well. When everyone is clicking we are really good.”
