JOE Dunne has expressed his admiration for debt-ridden Portsmouth, ahead of his Colchester United side’s visit to Fratton Park for a relegation showdown this afternoon.
Dunne said: “I have to admire their staff, their players and their supporters especially.
“It is not necessarily their fault, the position they are in.
“Their players don’t really know what team is going to turn out, but they will stick at it.
“As a club, to not know whether the next day it’s going to be in existence or not, must be very hard. But the noise from their fans will be persistent throughout the afternoon.”
The U’s recorded a 2-0 win over Walsall last weekend, following a terrible run of nine straight defeats, to move out of the relegation zone.
Pompey, meanwhile, have not won in 16 games and have lost their last six on the bounce. They have been in administration since February, 2012.
