BARRY Lakin has agreed to take over as manager of Stanway Rovers until the end of the season.
Lakin replaces Steve Pitt, who was relieved of his duties as manager at the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division club on Saturday afternoon.
Lakin, who started the season as assistant manager to Chris Tracey at Ryman League Division One North AFC Sudbury, subsequently joined Stanway as Pitt’s No.2.
“It’s a golden opportunity for me,” said Lakin, who hopes to appoint an assistant quickly.
