MARK Goldfinch will make his debut for Ridgeons League Hadleigh United against new Premier Division leaders Ely City tomorrow.
The 30-year-old centre half has been signed from Ryman League Division One North side Leiston, who he joined five years ago from Ipswich Wanderers.
Goldfinch played more than 150 games for Leiston and was a regular in their side up until this season, but has found it hard to dislodge the regular centre back pairing of skipper David Head and Joe Jefford, who was signed in the summer.
Hadleigh manager Stuart Crawford said: “Goldy hasn’t played much lately but he is a great addition to our young squad.
“His experience and positional sense will help the other defenders around him. We have some good defenders but have lacked an experienced leader all season.”
Hadleigh winger Danny Allen has agreed a new contract to commit himself to the club until the end of next season.
The 24-year-old old has been in impressive form this season, scoring 13 times from midfield.
“Danny is a vital part of our squad, he has improved no end since joining us last season, he is more consistent, stronger and now has a knack of scoring goals.
Danny is a great lad and well-liked amongst his team-mates, he is an important part of the dressing room,” said Crawford.
