BRANTHAM Athletic have decided against applying for promotion to Step 4 football for next season because of the cost involved in ground improvements.
The FA have informed the Ridgeons League that Premier Division leaders Wroxham and Wisbech Town, who currently sit fifth, have applied for promotion.
There are 12 promotion places available for the champions of the 14 Step 5 leagues. Should a champion club not apply or does not meet the necessary ground requirements by March 31, 2012 then the second-placed club in that league will be considered, but only if the 12 promotion places available have not already been allocated to champion teams.
Any ranking required between qualifying second-placed clubs will be done on the basis of points per game.
