CHELMSFORD City will face Premier League side and last season’s beaten semi-finalists Bolton Wanderers, in the third round of the FA Cup, provided they defeat Macclesfield in next Tuesday’s replay at Moss Rose.
The Clarets were held to a 1-1 draw by the League Two outfit at Melbourne Park yesterday, despite taking the lead through midfielder Max Cornhill.
Cornhill had a chance to win the game with a header at the end but could not find the target, meaning Tony Diagne’s close-range effort for the Silkmen earned Gary Simpson’s side a draw.
