COLCHESTER United Ian Henderson hopes he’s given the manager a timely reminder of his talents with a hat-trick in a 4-1 closed-doors friendly win at Watford.
Playing as the lead striker in Tuesday night’s match, Henderson twice lobbed the keeper before finishing a cool one-on-one. Anthony Wordsworth, who played as the supporting striker, scored the other.
Henderson, who has not started a first team game since the 3-0 home defeat to Huddersfield towards the start of last month, said: “It was like I was the big man, playing up front on my own! That’s where I learned my trade as a young player and I really enjoyed it.
“I just hope I’ve put myself in the manager’s thoughts.”
