EIGHT teams are more likely to get promoted from League One than Colchester next season, according to one bookmaker.
The U’s – who were in the running for automatic promotion for the majority of the last campaign before their dramatic end-of-season collapse – have been given promotion odds of 13/2 by William Hill.
That is longer odds than the likes of Brighton (4/1) and newly-promoted Notts County (9/2) and is equal with Brentford and Plymouth.
Southampton – who narrowly missed out on the play-offs last season, despite a 10 points deduction – have unsurprisingly been installed as odds on favourites for promotion at 4/6.
Then comes Sheffield Wednesday (2/1), followed by Charlton and Huddersfield (both 11/4).
Newly-promoted Dagenham & Redbridge have been installed as favourites for relegation, alongside Yeovil, Hartlepool, Exeter and Walsall.
