PAUL Grainger has left Long Melford to join Wivenhoe Town as assistant manager.
Talking to the Long Melford website, Grainger said: “It is with great regret that I have decided to leave Long Melford FC and I would like to wish everyone at the club all the very best for the future. My departure is not remotely as a result of any 'fall-out' with anyone, far from it, merely a desire to get back managing, as I have done 26 years solidly before this season and was simply missing the buzz of it.
“I would like to thank everyone at Melford for their support, friendship and efforts in my 2 years at the club and hope to see you all again soon. I hope the new season provides the club with more success than recent ones have and will certainly miss the many friends I've made, but sometimes you just have to move on. Thanks again everyone, it's been a pleasure.”
Everybody at Long Melford FC would like to thank Paul for his services to the club both as First Team manager and General Manager and wish him well in his new challenge at Wivenhoe Town.
