BRANTHAM Athletic held a minute's silence at their last home Ridgeons League, First Division game for their former player-manager Harry Oscroft who died on New Year's Eve.
Harry played for Stoke City for many years before moving to Suffolk and joining Brantham.
Born in Mansfield in 1926, he began his career with Mansfield Colliery before signing for Mansfield Town in February 1947 where he scored 39 goals in 112 league games.
Harry made his debut for Stoke against West Brom in 1950 and played his last game for the Potters against Bristol City in 1959. He made 349 appearances and scored 106 goals and is the club's sixth highest all-time goalscorer.
Harry then signed for Port Vale where he scored 12 goals in 51 appearances before moving to Brantham and helping them win the Suffolk Senior Cup.
Brantham's minute's silence also included two others who had been involved with Brantham FC and the community - Eric Williams and Benny Aldous.
