Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna gave an injury update on four of his defenders following this afternoon's 1-0 defeat at Wycombe Wanderers.

Janoi Donacien and Luke Woolfenden were both absent from the squad, while Richard Keogh went off at half-time to force a half-fit George Edmundson into action.

"Richard got a kick on the side of his calf or just below his knee, so he was feeling that at half-time and had to come off," said McKenna.

"George hasn't trained all week really and, in a normal situation, wouldn't have been involved. But with the injuries we have at the moment he wanted to make himself available and obviously we needed him."

On Donacien (ankle) and Woolfenden, he said: "They're not bad hopefully. Janoi is not far away and Luke's is a minor injury. Whether he makes the next game (Oxford at home on Boxing Day) or not we have to wait and see, but it's certainly not anything long-term.

"Luke's is a little strain around his adductor area, so nothing major.

"George has an ongoing issue in and around his knee which he's managed the last few weeks. We've had to limit his training. He needs to be continually managed."

With Lee Evans stepping off the bench to make his first appearance since injuring his knee back in late October, and Marcus Harness among those who warmed up, McKenna added: "Lee has done very well and it was great to have him back out there. He's an important player for us. And it was nice to have Marcus back around the group as well.

"Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we'll be back to a stronger position."
