Wigan Athletic boss Kolo Toure has praised Ipswich Town target Nathan Broadhead as the chase to sign the on-loan Everton forward hots up.

The Blues are interested in signing the 24-year-old, who's currently on loan at Championship basement boys Wigan.

He's scored five goals in 22 appearances there, but appears set to be recalled to Everton and sold this window as the ailing Premier League club look to raise funds.

Asked about Broadhead, Toure said: "Nathan is still with us, and that's all we're focused on.

"He is a very good player, a great professional and I like him.

"We will assess the situation, as we will with all of the players in that situation."

Broadhead impressed on loan at Sunderland last campaign, bagging 13 goals in 27 games as the Black Cats finally won promotion back to the Championship.

Reports claim Broadhead would be interested in returning to the Stadum of Light, if the opportunity arises.
