Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna today gave encouraging injury updates on midfield duo Panutche Camara and Dominic Ball.

Camara has made just one start and three sub appearances for the Blues since joining from League One rivals Plymouth last summer.

The 26-year-old, who underwent a third groin operation in December, played just over an hour for the Under-21s in a game against Charlton at Playford Road this afternoon.

"He hasn't played much football since last April," said McKenna, speaking ahead of tomorrow's League One home clash with Burton Albion.

"Obviously he came back for a little spell with us but he was never at 100%.

"Speaking to him, I think now is the first time since the back end of last season that he feels he is playing pain free and without inhibitions.

"That's a positive. It's about building him up now. It's going to take a bit of time to get him up to his best levels, but the main thing is he is playing pain free, is feeling good, has trained well with the group this week and has managed to get some minutes for the 21s today."

Ball, who arrived from Championship club QPR last summer, has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury in early November.

It was feared the 27-year-old would be ruled out for the season, but he has returned to training ahead of schedule.

"Dominic Ball has done terrifically well," said McKenna.

"He's been involved a little bit this week and will be involved with the group fully next week.

"Of course we'll have to make a decision on when he's ready to be back involved in matches."

It shouldn't be long before fit-again Arsenal loanee Tyreece John-Jules starts training again, while Lee Evans' rehabilitation from a knee injury is described as 'on track'.
