Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna is expecting tomorrow night's visitors to Portman Road, Accrington Stanley, to prove stubborn opposition.

The top-two chasing Blues are starting to build some momentum following victories against Forest Green (4-0 at home), MK Dons (1-0 away) and Burton (4-0 at home).

Stanley, meanwhile, moved out of the drop zone with a 2-1 come-from-behind win against 10-man Forest Green at the weekend.

"We had a really tough game against them here last year, I remember it well," said McKenna.

"(Ethan) Hamilton cracked one in from outside the box, which he can do, then it was really tough to break them down. We had to be really diligent to score the winner late on.

"It was quite similar in the away game this season. That was a really hard fought game where we had to stay patient and get the goals (both from Conor Chaplin) late."

The Blues boss continued: "They're fighting for their lives at one end of the table and we're we're fighting for our lives at the other.

"We know it's going to be another challenge.

"People will probably look at our scoreline on Saturday and think it was a comfortable win, but that game could so easily have gone another way.

"We just need to keep being humble, keep respecting each opponent and focus on delivering performances."

Leif Davis limped off against Burton, while Massimo Luongo and Nathan Broadhead are two players who have been eased into the Town team due to previous injuries.

Asked if he might freshen up his team tomorrow night, McKenna said: "We'll have to look at it. It's a three-game week, we're putting big physical effort into the games and there's a big away game (at Bolton) on Saturday.

"I've got full trust in everyone in the squad to go out and deliver a performance for us. Whatever team we put out will be competitive and hungry and do whatever we need to do to get the win."
