Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna says his team will approach Saturday's crunch clash at promotion rival Bolton Wanderers with 'belief and humility'.

It's fifth-v-third at the UniBol Stadium as the League One campaign nears the final stretch.

Town head to Lancashire off the back of four straight wins against relegation-battling sides by an aggregate scoreline of 12-0.

Bolton, meanwhile, are looking to get back on track after dropping points at Portsmouth (3-1 loss) and Morecambe (0-0), with boss Ian Evatt admitting his previously in-form side have been showing signs of fatigue after a run of eight games in 28 days.

"It's a nice way to go into the game," said McKenna, Tuesday night's 3-0 home win against Accrington following on from victories against Forest Green (4-0 at home), MK Dons (1-0 away) and Burton (4-0 at home).

"Bolton was one of the most challenging games we had last season when I first took over (Town lost 2-0 away in January 2022) and they've improved this season.

"We had a really good match against them on the first day of the season (1-1 at Portman Road) and we've both gone on to have strong seasons as a lot of people probably predicted after watching that match.

"It will be good to go there and challenge ourselves against a good team.

"We'll go there with belief, but also with humility knowing we'll have to work hard and probably play better than we did against Accrington.

"If we perform we know we've got a good chance to go there and win."

With 11 games to go, Town are five points adrift of second-place Plymouth, the Pilgrims travelling to fourth-place Barnsley on Saturday.

The Blues' next five matches are all against teams placed between fourth and ninth, with Shrewsbury (h), Barnsley (a), Derby (a) and Wycombe (h) coming up.
