The bookmakers are backing Ipswich Town to win automatic promotion this season.

The campaign is entering the home straight, with Kieran McKenna’s side now having just 10 matches to play at a time when they sit only two points behind Plymouth Argyle in second.

Sheffield Wednesday are three points further ahead and hold two games in hand on both Town and Argyle, with the bookies fully expecting the Owls to go on and win the division. Darren Moore’s side are 1/6 to win League One and 1/25 to win automatic promotion.

But, despite sitting third, Town are being backed to go up in second place, with the Blues 4/6 to win automatic promotion ahead of Argyle, who are priced at 5/4.

Ipswich are a 7/1 shot to win the title and are priced at 7/2 to win the play-offs, while they can also be backed to win promotion by any method at 2/7.

Derby, who are seemingly out of the automatic race but look destined to enter the play-offs, are the favourites to come away from Wembley with a victory at 9/4.

Town’s next game is at home to Shrewsbury on Saturday.
