Greg Leigh has been left out of the final Jamaica squad for their upcoming clash with Mexico.

The Ipswich left-back was initially called up for the game on March 26, with the Blues understood to have received official documentation as well as detailed travel plans ahead of Leigh’s departure for international duty.

However, the defender's name does not appear in the final squad named earlier today, which is understood to have come as a surprise to Ipswich, given they had expected to be without Leigh’s services over the coming week.

With Wes Burns and Nathan Broadhead already away with Wales, Leigh’s initial call-up was Town’s third of the international window, meaning they reached the threshold required to postpone the planned clash with Barnsley on March 25.

All documentation regarding the three call-ups was supplied to the EFL before both sides agreed to play the contest on April 25, with the game to take place on that rearranged date despite Ipswich now only having two players away on international duty.

In addition to Leigh missing out on the final Jamaica squad, skipper Sam Morsy has not made the cut down Egypt party for their upcoming games, having initially made a preliminary list of players based outside the African nation.
