Ipswich Town Women are in action today in a potential title-decider with Oxford United at the AGL Arena in Felixstowe.

Last weekend, the Blues made it seven successive wins with a 1-0 success at Gillingham as they remained top of the FAWNL Southern Premier Division table.

East Anglian Daily Times:

The U’s are sitting second in the table, only two points behind with two games in hand to come. They have only lost once all season, winning their last five games, including a 2-0 win at home against Plymouth Argyle last weekend.

The visitors beat the Blues twice last season, which included a 1-0 win in Felixstowe in the final home game of last campaign, and have once again proved to be a good side in the division, scoring 42 goals in the league and conceding just nine, with top goalscorer Carly Johns scoring 19 in all competitions.

Third placed Watford travel to 10th placed Plymouth this weekend, with the Hornets six points behind the Blues but also having two games in hand. Crucially, Watford and Oxford still have to play each other on Wednesday, April 12.

Captain Blue Wilson, speaking ahead of the game on our Tractor Girls Talk podcast said: "It's going to be a very tough game, but i'm really excited for it because it's two teams who are in incredible form and going against each other in huge circumstances.

"I really hope that fans pack out Felixstowe and make noise, it's a key one in the title race and our season."

Kick-off is at 2pm, with tickets costing £5.
